Who We are - Youthsquad

We are a nonprofit organization based in midtown Palo Alto, California with a purpose to provide services to the community which are created, implemented and delivered by local youth.

Originally formed in 2006 to provide fund raising opportunities to high school aged youth, the services and products are now ongoing. The youth are motivated by the money they earn, yet the experience may be the real value.

Typically highly motivated, energetic and smart, the youth are happy and able to use a shovel or edit a website. They learn by doing, with supervision available to provide consistent quality. The customer is not charged for extra learning time, but we ask tolerance for the time required.

Services like yard work may simply save a customer time or energy, or provide a skill that older backs and knees find difficult. Other services, usually technical in nature like digital photo editing or video conversions, can provide desired products that will amaze adults. Then there are the services like dog walking and adolescent tutoring/camps that develop interpersonal and communication skills while providing mutually beneficial experiences.

When done correctly, the Youth Squad kids will know that they earned their pay and how to help others do the same.
